Beginners Welcome

River Women is a gathering on the Delaware River, shaped by this place—its water, its land, and the community around it.

Come spend a day on the Delaware River—fishing, laughing, sharing incredible food, and settling into the kind of experience that stays with you. Time on the water, casting lines, catching fish, drifting in canoes, gathering around meals, and ending the day by the fire under the stars.

This is a chance to step out of your usual routine and into something you may not always make time for—yourself- laughing, being in nature, spending time surrounded by women, passionately enjoying something that lights you up, or endeavoring into something new.

There’s no one reason to come to River Women. Some already feel at home on the water, some are curious, and some are just looking for a day like this to share with other women. However you come to it, you’re welcome here.

Our home base for the experience is Soaring Eagle Campground, a beautiful riverside campsite set directly along the Delaware. With open river access, a wood-fired sauna, and places to gather along the water, it provides the perfect setting for a day centered around the river. Soaring Eagle will also provide our canoe rentals and the shuttle that brings us upriver to begin the day’s float.

The morning begins at camp with coffee and tea, line-tying, and light fishing instruction before we head upriver by shuttle. From there, we travel back down the Delaware by canoe—fishing, paddling, and moving downriver together. Each canoe is free to make its way at its own pace, leaving space to cast a line, take in the scenery, and stop along the banks to enjoy the lunches packed for the day.

By late afternoon we return to camp, where dinner will be served before gathering around the fire together in the evening.

Food for the experience is thoughtfully sourced from the surrounding region—local meats, vegetables, dairy, breads, jams, mushrooms, and seasonal ingredients from nearby farms and small producers. The intention is to celebrate the place we’re in, bringing the flavors of the region to the table while supporting the local community that helps make experiences like this possible.

A grounded, welcoming river gathering—equal parts learning, laughter, and quiet time outdoors.

About the experience.
